Volunteer Opportunities

In Tanzania

Volunteering at SEGA is a great way to have a positive impact on the lives of every student at the school. We offer week-long or three-month service learning opportunities for volunteers that offer capacity-building skills such as English as a Foreign Language (EFL), Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and Marketing and Communications. Volunteers can also take part in our annual English Fluency Program to teach English at the school or our STEM Adventures at SEGA to promote STEM education among SEGA’s youngest students.

  • STEM Adventures at SEGA - June 20 - July 2, 2024

  • English Fluency Program - October 9 - 26, 2024

In the U.S.

Your help is critical to our success! There are many ways to volunteer with Nurturing Minds and feel connected to SEGA and the students. You can:

  • Join (or start) a Nurturing Minds chapter in your area

  • Host a gathering or party to raise awareness and funds

  • Walk with our annual Walk for Water and Trek for Tech events

  • Become a school partner

    • A great way for high school and college students to volunteer and support SEGA is by starting a SEGA club at your school! A SEGA club is a great way to become more culturally responsive global citizens. SEGA clubs can engage in cultural exchange activities, a pen-pal program, video exchanges, fundraising opportunities, and volunteer activities to increase their cross-cultural humility. Environmental Sustainability

Blog: Nurturing Minds Announces New Climate-Progressive Initiative

Nurturing Minds is excited to announce our new initiative to become a climate-progressive organization that recognizes the importance of sustainable practices in today’s world. We recognize the intersection between climate change, social justice, gender equality, and education.

This is incredibly important to Nurturing Minds because women and girls are disproportionately affected by the impacts of climate change, and education is a key factor in helping them to adapt and to build resilience to these impacts. Girls and women often bear the brunt of the impacts of the climate crises, particularly in countries like Tanzania. By ensuring that girls and women have access to education and opportunities, we can help to create a more sustainable and equitable future for all.
